Bu araştırmada amaç, bazı gelişmiş ülkelerin spor yönetim şekillerinin incelenerek, ulusal spor yönetim şeklinin geliştirilmesi ve iyileştirilmesi için örnek bir model fikri yaratmaktı. Yöntem olarak nitel araştırma tekniklerinden tarama modeli ve gözlem tekniği kullanılmıştır. Yapılan içerik analizleri sonucu Avustralya spor yönetim sistemi şu şekilde tespit edilmiştir. Avustralya Spor Komisyonu (ASC); ASC öncelikle ulusal spor yönetim ve tavsiye verici bir kurum niteliğinde olan çok geniş olan spor yapısının köşe taşlarından biridir. Avustralya Spor Enstitüsü (AIS); AIS, özellikle Olimpiyat oyunları ve Dünya şampiyonalarındaki başarıya odaklanmakla beraber, ulusal düzeyde elit sporun gelişiminden sorumludur.
