Bu araştırmanın amacı, düzey dersliklerinin ilköğretim 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin fen bilgisi dersine ilişkin akademik başarıları ve benlik saygısı üzerine etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Bulgulara göre, başarı testi puanları açısından deney ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmazken (p>0.05), düzey derslikleri arasında anlamlı fark bulunmaktadır (p<0.05). Farklılık üst-orta, üst-alt düzey derslikleri arasındadır. Başarı puanları açısından, deney ve kontrol grubunda yer alan kız öğrencilerin ve deney ve kontrol grubunda yer alan erkek öğrencilerin arasında anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır (p>0.05). Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı ölçeği puan ortalamaları, deney ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı fark göstermezken (p>0.05), düzey derslikleri arasında anlamlı fark göstermektedir (p<0.05). Farklılık üst-alt, orta-alt düzey derslikleri arasındadır.

The aim of this research is to expose the effects of between class ability grouping on science academic achievement and self esteem of sixth class students. As a result, according to the achievement test, there couldn’t be found a meaningful difference between the experiment and the control group (p>0.05), beside this there was found a meaningful difference between high, medium and low classes (p<0.05). The difference was fixed between high-medium, high-low classes. According to the sex variable, success of the students’ was searched and it was understood that there is no meaningful difference among girl students in experiment and control group and no meaningful difference among the boy students in experiment and control group (p>0.05). According to the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, there couldn’t be found a meaningful difference between the experiment and the control group (p>0.05), beside this there was found a meaningful difference between high, medium and low classes (p<0.05).
