İLKÖĞRETİM OKULLARINDA MATEMATİK DERSLERİNDE WEBQUEST KULLANIMI: BİR VİDEO ÖRNEK OLAY ÇALIŞMASI

Yeni bir bilimsel yaklaşım olarak örnek olayların dijital platforma dönüştürüldüğü video örnek olay çalışmaları günümüz eğitim alanında ve özellikle öğretmenlere teknoloji bilgi ve yeterlikleri kazandırma anlamında oldukça sık bir biçimde kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Teknolojinin Matematik Eğitimine Entegrasyonu (TME2) projesi kapsamında ilköğretim 2.sınıf matematik dersi konu alanında WebQuest kullanımına yönelik gerçekleştirilmiş bir örnek olay burada resimlerle desteklenerek, detaylı bir şekilde anlatılmış ve WebQuest’in matematik öğretiminde nasıl ve ne şekilde kullanılabileceği örneklenmeye çalışılmıştır. Böylece çok amaçlı bir öğretim tekniği olan WebQuest’in öğretimde kullanımının etkililiği anlatılmış ve bu yolla öğrencilerin üst düzey düşünme becerilerinin gelişeceği, sosyal becerilerinin gelişeceği, işbirlikli öğrenme ortamlarının oluşturulacağı, matematik öğretiminde teknolojinin etkili bir şekilde kullanılabileceği, proje tabanlı öğretimin oldukça kolay biri biçimde gerçekleştirilebileceği belirtilmiştir.

USING WEBQUESTS IN MATHEMATICS LESSONS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS: A VIDEOCASE STUDY

Videocases, as a new scientific approach and transformations of cases to digital forms, have been increasingly used in today’s educational research areas particularly to support teachers with the opportunity to develop technology knowledge and skills. In this article, a videocase, which was developed by Technology Integration Into Education (TME2) Project team in mathematics subject with second graders about the use of WebQuest, is presented in detail by using text and pictures. Through this videocase it is aimed to exemplify the way technology can be used in mathematics instruction. Thus, effectiveness of WebQuest, which is a multipurpose teaching technique, in instruction was illustrated. It is also noted that by means of using WebQuests some critical educational outcomes such as developing students' higher-order thinking skills, developing students' social skills, creating collaborative learning environments, using technology effectively in instruction, and utilizing project-based instruction comfortably might be easily achieved.
