DANIŞMA BECERİLERİ EĞİTİMİNİN PSİKOLOJİK DANIŞMANLARIN EMPATİK BECERİSİNE ETKİSİ

Araştırmanın amacı, Temel Danışma Becerileri Eğitimi’nin psikolojik danışmanların empatik beceri düzeyine etkisi olup olmadığını belirlemektir. Araştırma 90 psikolojik danışman ile yürütülmüştür. 48 danışman deney grubunu ve 42 danışman kontrol grubunu oluşturmaktadır. Öntest ve sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Dökmen (1988) tarafından geliştirilen Empatik Beceri Ölçeği ve bilgi toplama formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde t testi ve tekrarlı ölçümler için varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular incelendiğinde, eğitim kursu sonrasında deney grubunun empatik beceri düzeyinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı artış saptanmıştır. Psikolojik Danışmanların temel becerilerin uygulanması ve hatta çağdaş kuramlar ile uygulamaları hakkında, özellikle süpervizyon eşliğinde eğitilmelerine yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.

THE EFFECTS OF COUNSELING SKILLS EDUCATION ON EMPATHIC SKILLS OF COUNSELORS

The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of Basic Counseling Skills Training on counselors’ empathic skill levels. The research was conducted with 90 counselors, in which 48 counselors constituted the experimental group and 42 counselors constituted the control group. The pre test-post test experimental model with control group was used in the research. The data were gathered by using Empathic Skill Scale which was developed by Dökmen (1988) and a questionnaire. To analyze the data, t test and the repeated measures of ANOVA were used. It was found that, there is a statistically significant increase in empathic skill levels of counselors after training. It is suggested that besides the application of core counseling skills, current approaches and their applications should be presented under supervision through inservice trainings for counselors.
