Çalışmanın amacı, eğitim fakültesi öğrencilerinin geleceğe yönelik olumsuz beklentilerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada bireyin geleceğe yönelik olumsuz beklentilerinin belirlenmesi için “Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği” uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Buca Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Matematik, Fen Bilgisi ve Türkçe öğretmenliği birinci ve dördüncü sınıfları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise evrenden yansız olarak seçilen 92 birinci sınıf, 92 dördüncü sınıf toplam 184 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Uygulamaya katılan öğrencilerin 119’u kız, 65’i erkek öğrencilerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada anketteki sorulara eksiksiz yanıt veren 184 öğrencinin sonuçları değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Katılımcıların %32,1’i İlköğretim Matematik Öğretmenliği, %34,38’i Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği ve %33,2’si de Türkçe Öğretmeliği programına devam eden öğrencilerden oluşmaktadır. Uygulanan ölçekte umutsuzluk düzeyinin cinsiyet, bölüm, sınıf, program türü, yaşanılan yer değişkenlerine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğine bakılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to determine the future oriented negative expectancy of education faculty students. In the research, “Beck Unexpectancy Scaling” is applied while determining future oriented negative expectancy of an individual. The universe of the research consists of the first and fourth classes of Dokuz Eylül University Buca Education Faculty of Elementary Mathematics Education, Elementary Science Education and Turkish Teacher Candidates. Furthermore, the sampling of the research is formed by 92 first class, 92 fourth class, totally 184 teacher candidates who are chosen randomly from the universe. The students who participate the application consist of 119 female and 65 males students. The results of 184 students who answer the questions completely were evaluated. 32.1% of the participants are attending Departmant of Elementary Mathematics Education ,% 34.38 Department of Elementary Science Education and 33.2% Turkish Teaching program. In the applied scale, it is examined that whether the level of hopelessness is varying or not with respect to variables such as gender, department, class, program type, the place where they live.
